Much to our regret we must inform you, that our former Board member, Mr.
Manuel Schmutz past away.
Manu last his fight against his insidious disease.
Our thoughts are with his family.
Manu was 57, certified mountain guide and ski-patrol, member of "compagnie
des guides de Chamonix".
He has been working at the mountain rescue unit of Chamonix (PGHM)during 5
years, before entering ENSA in 1982 as a teacher.
Involved in the Guide training course and head of professional ski-patrol
rescuer training course, Manu was always concerned with safety of the
trainees, colleagues...rescuers.
After a couple of seasons as coordinator for alpinism department, he was in
charge of environmental approach in ENSA since 2009.
He was a rock climbing fan...
His wife Laure (Mayor of the village of SERVOZ) and his two daughters Hélène
and Fanny accompanied him during his last hours.
Manu will always remain in our memories.
